Virva E. Auvinen was born in Helsinki, Finland. She graduated from the University of Helsinki as an art historian and has a MA degree from the department of New Media Design and Production at the University of Art and Design of Helsinki.
After living for some time in Bologna, Italy, where she attended several comic book creation courses, she moved to Berlin where she now lives with her family and works as a designer and graphic novelist.
She draws her inspiration for her stories and illustrations from both the past and the present, capturing the feel of everyday life down the centuries.
“Lady Isabella’s Secrets” follows up the interactive story concept developed in 2010-12 that won the European Commission Information and Media Society Art & Design prize at NEM in 2011.
